It was a little over a year ago that I heard the words that would change my life. I was at my doctor’s office for my annual physical. She placed her hands on the base of my neck, near my collarbone. She said, “Swallow.” I did. I had done this a number of times before, and nothing had ever happened, so I was not worried. But then something odd happened. She said, “Swallow again.”
I had no idea what was to come in the future, or how significant those words would be. But in a way, it all started with a simple command, “Swallow again.”
