Danse Macabre by Camile Saint Saens

I think I heard this for the first time a few days ago, although it seemed strangely familiar. Perhaps it is one of those pieces I have heard repeatedly and repeatedly, and yet that time I could put a name to it. It seemed familiar and novel at the same time.

Anyway, it seems more than appropriate to post this cheerfully morbid, or morbidly cheerful piece on today of all days.

Dust to dust, ashes to ashes.
