I found this picture online. Bernini portrays the moment when Hades grabbed Persephone and dragged her into the underworld.
The most impressive part of this statue is Hades’ hand pressing into Persephone’s thigh. The marble actually indents and reacts the way skin does when it is pressed. Tour de force. Bravo Bernini, Bravo.
