Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber

Last weekend I went to the Cleveland Orchestra for the first time in almost ten years. The last time I went I heard The Lord of the Rings Symphony, and my friend proudly proclaimed that she had died and gone to nerd heaven.

This time I heard Beethoven’s First Symphony and Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber.

I had never heard of Hindemith before, but his Symphonic Metamorphosis was absolutely amazing! It’s so scary and moving with a surprisingly happy ending.

Enjoy!
