I have a strong affinity with a painting.

I saw this for the first time on a terrible day at school.  It was in the tenth grade, when my parents’ marriage was ending.  This picture shows King David, after the death of his son Absalom, who had tried to stage a coup and overthrow David.  He has thrown the his crown to the side, and he is full of pain.

I could relate.
