So, I realized three things recently.
1 I love watching films directed by women, about women.
2 I love watching You Tube movie reviews.
3 You Tube reviewers rarely review films directed by women, about women. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching Red Letter Media. But they rarely review the kinds of movies I want to see. (I also don’t like horror movies.)
I was thinking about this recently. I also thought about how Greta Gerwig was snubbed for Best Director, The Farewell was snubbed COMPLETELY (Bad Academy! Bad! Bad!).
So, since it’s better to light a candle than curse the darkness (Be the change you want to see in the world!) I am going to start The Chick Flick movie series and The Chick Flick Movie Awards.
I am going to try to see as many films directed by a woman where the main character is also a woman. Then, at the end of the year, we will have the Chick Flick Movie Awards, with Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress.
I’ll post quarterly statuses with the Chick Flick Films I have seen up to that point.

I will also look up to see if the film’s screenplays were written by a woman. If they were, I will have a screenplay award for for best adapter d and best original screenplay. I will also have a best documentary award.
