Bas-Relief of Ten Armed Lokshvara from Cambodia

I believe that this is the first time that this wall had left Cambodia.  Cleveland, of course, has an amazing Asian collection, so it is fitting that they would lend it to us.

Scenes from the Life of the Buddha

This is from Pakistan.  It’s so funny to remember that during the lifetime of the Buddha, the borders between India, Pakistan, and Nepal didn’t exist.  This is at the Cleveland Museum of Art, of course.

Ritual Bell, Goryeo Dynasty 1200’s

I love this bell.  It reminds me of the large bell I saw in Gyeongju when I was in South Korea.

Seated Buddha, Qi Dynasty

This is a rare type of seated Buddha from the Northern Qi dynasty in China. The pedastal actuallly dates from slightly later Tang dynasty. The Cleveland Museum of Art has an extensive collection of Asian art.
