Better late than never.
9 months ago, when I heard that Andy Murray had hired Ivan Lendl as his coach, I thought, “He’ll probably fire him in six months, just like the others.”
I was wrong. Again. Which is fine. I hate being right all the time.
On Monday night, Andy Murray became the US Open champion. It was his first Grand Slam, and the first Grand Slam won by a British player in 76 years. (Or was it 3,000 years?) He had to beat the reigning US Open Champ, Novak Djokovic, and it took him 5 sets and nearly 5 hours to do it.
In the end, it was worth the wait.
Congratulations Andy. You are truly British now, and you are truly a member of the Big 4.
I know Andy, it’s a shock. But you’ll get used to it!
its wonderful news for him i think. he needed this win badly. now he has gold, and U.S. Open in the same year. that’s history in itself! 🙂
hope u’re well . have a good week
Indeed! It’s been a great couple of months for Andy!
